EADV 2025: Psychological and Psychiatric Implications of Rosacea

At the EADV 2025 Congress in Paris, Mohammad Jafferany, MD, DFAPA, MCPS (Derm.), Professor at Central Michigan University College of Medicine, presented findings from a systematic review exploring the psychological and psychiatric aspects of rosacea. The analysis showed high rates of anxiety (up to 53%), depression (58%) and suicidal thoughts (6%) among patients, with symptom severity correlating with mental health burden. Dr. Jafferany emphasized the importance of multidisciplinary care and routine mental health screening in dermatology to improve patient outcomes.
