AD/PD 2026: Improving Gait and Reducing Severity in Parkinson’s Disease

Voluntary walking interventions improved gait, functional mobility, and reduced disease severity in individuals with Parkinson’s disease. In this MEDtalk from the AD/PD Conference 2026, Frederik Bonde-Jensen, PhD Student, Department of Public Health, Aarhus University, presents a study comparing these interventions with non-active control groups. The results demonstrate significant benefits on gait, functional mobility, and disease severity, highlighting the potential of walking programs to support Parkinson’s disease management and improve patients’ quality of life.
