Anna Sundholm

Anna Sundholm, MD, PhD,  is a Neurologist working at Department of Neurology at Karolinska University Hospital in Stockholm, Sweden. Her main clinical focus area is within headache disorders, but since 2017 she also has an administrative position at the Department being Head of junior doctors.

Since 2025, she is responsible for the Headache section at the Department and included in the regional pharmacological expert group for neurology as headache expert. She has been part of the board of the Swedish Headache Society since 2014.

Anna is involved in many teaching projects when it comes to headache disorders and is since a few years back responsible for the week long headache course for resident doctors in this area. Her research PhD project was on register studies on idiopathic intracranial hypertension.

She is now part of Andrea Carmine Belins research group at Karolinska Institutet and involved in different headache projects. Her goal today is to work on making the patient journey work better within the regional health care system.
