Francesc Valldeoriola

Dr. Francesc Valldeoriola, MD, graduated from the University of Barcelona in 1988 and completed his Neurology specialization at the Hospital Clínic i Provincial de Barcelona in 1995. He pursued international training at renowned institutions, including the Centre Hospitalier Universitaire in Grenoble (France), Emory University in Atlanta (USA), and Northwestern Hospital in Toronto (Canada).

In 2003, he earned his doctoral degree from the University of Barcelona, focusing on functional alterations in reflex circuits in the brainstem in parkinsonian patients, receiving cum laude honors and a doctoral extraordinary award. Since 2020, Dr. Valldeoriola has been the Head of the Parkinson’s Disease and Movement Disorders Unit at Hospital Clinic of Barcelona, specializing in deep brain stimulation and movement disorders. He also holds the Associate Professor of Neurology position at the University of Barcelona.

Dr. Valldeoriola is a member of various professional societies, including the Catalan Neurological Society, the Movement Disorder Society, and the Brainstem Reflexes Society. His extensive contributions encompass over 280 publications in indexed journals and books, 250 presentations at meetings and congresses, 250 invited conferences, participation in over 50 clinical trials, and organization of more than 30 national and international courses on deep brain stimulation and movement disorders, among other achievements.
