Trinidad Montero-Vilchez

Trinidad Montero-Vilchez is a dermatologist at the Hospital Universitario Virgen de las Nieves in Granada, Spain. In May 2022 she completed the PhD Programme in Clinical Medicine and Public Health with International Mention at the University of Granada, for which she received the qualification Outstanding Cum Laude. Her research focus on understanding skin barrier dysfunction and immunological disorders in different skin conditions, study the impact of exposome factors on the skin and tissue and cell bioengineering. She belongs to the TECe19-Clinical and Translational Dermatology research group, accredited by the Instituto de Salud Carlos III, and participates as principal investigator and collaborator in several projects. She has also received several awards and grants for her research, such as the Latinaderm Excellence 2022 grant, which recognises the best dermatology residents in Spain and Latin America, and an international grant awarded by the European Academy of Dermatology for stays abroad. She has participated as a speaker at several national and international congresses. She is a reviewer for several international journals and is editor of several special issues. She has more than 60 publications in high impact scientific journals, such as The Journal of the American Academy of Dermatology, Contact Dermatitis, The Journal of the European Academy of Dermatology and Venereology or International Journal of Environmental Research and Public Health, having led more than 30. She has an H index of 9 (WoS) and a cumulative impact factor > 240. She is also a clinical tutor of the Degree of Medicine of the University of Granada and has supervised several undergraduate and postgraduate students. She has also participated in several scientific dissemination conferences in primary and secondary schools and in radio programmes promoting strategies for the prevention of skin cancer and the need for proper hand hygiene to prevent contagious diseases.
