One in Four Adults with Blast Cells in Peripheral Blood Developed Cancer Within One Year

A new population-based study from the Region of Southern Denmark shows that even low levels of blast cells in peripheral blood are linked to a markedly increased risk of cancer within one year, particularly blood cancers. No safe threshold was identified, and even if blasts disappear on follow-up, the risk can remain high.
