Giuseppe Luigi Banna

Giuseppe Luigi Banna is a Consultant Medical Oncologist at Portsmouth Hospitals University NHS Trust and Honorary Associate Professor at the University of Portsmouth. Specialising in thoracic and urological cancers, he serves as a referee for international research committees.

A prolific researcher with more than 250 peer-reviewed publications, he has led over 20 clinical and translational studies as Principal or Chief Investigator. His research focuses on predictive models for immunotherapy using immune-inflammatory biomarkers, monitoring adherence to oral anticancer therapies, and developing frailty assessment tools. He is an expert in systematic reviews, meta-analyses, and the design of investigator-initiated trials for novel drug combinations, dedicated to advancing individualised patient care.
