Periodontitis Seems to Be Linked to Increased IBD Disease Activity and Disability

Is there a connection between periodontal disease and inflammatory bowel disease? Gorm Madsen and his study group investigated this question in a study presented at the ECCO congress 2024. It showed a strong association between periodontitis and increased IBD disability scores, along with heightened self-reported disease activity over the past years.
