Prolactin gene may play a role in depression, type 2 diabetes, and their comorbidity

For the first time, researchers have uncovered evidence suggesting that the prolactin gene and its newly identified risk variants are linked to and in linkage disequilibrium (linkage and association) with familial major depressive disorder, type 2 diabetes, and the co-occurrence of both conditions, known as MDD-T2D comorbidity.
