High Mortality Rate for Patients with Mantle Cell Lymphoma with a Second Primary Malignancy

Based on data from the Swedish and Danish Mantle Cell Lymphoma registers, Professor Ingrid Glimelius, an oncologist at Uppsala University, Sweden, presented findings at ASH 2024. The data indicates that patients with mantle cell lymphoma who also have a second primary malignancy experience significantly higher mortality rates compared to those without a second primary malignancy. The combination of mantle cell lymphoma and a second primary malignancy also poses challenges in determining appropriate treatment options.
