Malassezia-related skin diseases – Towards a deeper understanding of immunity

Discovering specific alleles in the human leukocyte antigen alleles advances our understanding of immunity against pathogens like yeasts. This study found four human leukocyte antigen (HLA) alleles associated with increased risk of Malassezia-related skin disease and two alleles associated with decreased risk.
